He´s Free (A Tribute To Jimi)
(26.04.1994)
I wanna tell you a story / ´Bout my little brother Jimi
Born in 1971 / But now he´s gone
Now he ist free / Now he is free like a bird
I hope he´s in Heaven / I hope he´s in the Rock´N´Roll-Heaven
The Music was his first love / We travelled around to hear it
And so in 1988 / We stood in front of the Berlin Wall
And we could not see behind it / But Pink Floyd let us fly
He fell in love with a beautiful woman / The future was widely opend
Formed a band with his best friends / They called it "River Of No Return"
Now he is free ...
Two days before the goddamn end / We went to a concert of E, L & P
They sang their "Lucky Man" for us / And you know - so Jimi was
He went out one friday night / In 1992
He went out and didn´t come back / From that long and lonesome road
And so the road was his river / His "River Of No Return"
Only God in Heaven knows / Why do things have to happen this way
And when the road took my brother / I fell down on my knees and prayed
Now he ist free / Now he is free like a bird
I hope he´s in Heaven / I hope he´s in the Rock´N´Roll-Heaven
God bless you, little brother! You´re always in my heart and mind!
